Habitat: Small wet meadow near small stream toward periphery of well-developed Ulmus-Fraxinus-Thuja-Larix swamp. Assoc.: Equisetum fluviatile, Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, Smilacina trifolia, Salix bebbiana, Caltha palustris, and Potentilla palustris. Peat- and marl-filled, post-glacial lake basin.
