Habitat: Conifer swamp (Picea mariana-Larix laricina co-dominant) interrupted by irregular patches of open mossy sedge meadow. Sphagnum spp. and Drosera rotundifolia occur in openings among tree islands. An old vehicle track resembles a swale and provides. disturbed microsite for such pioneering marsh species as Juncus effusus, Carex cephalantha, C. scoparia, Panicum boreale, and P. acuminatum var. fasciculatum.
