Habitat: Northern wet forest (Picea mariana, 1 dom--Abies balsamea, 2 dom), with Betula papyrifera & Pinus strobus. Associated species: mossy forest floor, incl. Sphagnum, with Carex brunnescens, C. paupercula, C. trisperma, Clintonia borealis, Listera cordata,. Cornus canadensis, Vaccinium augustifolium, Gaultheria procumbens, G. hispidula, Ledum groenlandicum, Melampyrum lineare, Linnaea borealis ssp. longiflora, and Abies balsamea & Betula papyrifera seedlings
