Common in Red & White Pine forest with Red Oak, Poplar, Beech, Basswood, Paper Birch. Many plants favor the bases of large Pines. With Mosses, Sedges, Mitchella repens, Maianthenum canadense, Aralia recemosa, A. nudicaulis, Clintonia borealis,. Lycopodium sp.,Trientalis borealis, etc.
