Habitat:
Earthen road bank in semi-shade of dry-mesic forest, gravelly sandy soil. 12738: Road bank dominated by Pteridum aquilinum & Carex pensylvanica, with Anemone cylindrica, Danthonia spicata, Hypericum perforatum, Symphyotrichum ciliolatum, & Trifolium pretense. Edges if road with Castilleja coccinea, Hieracium aurantiacum, & Leucanthemum vulgare.
Occurrence Remarks:
Sheet 4 of 4.Very local, approx. 300 plants filling a zone 18 m long by 6 m wide plus additional plants extending another 50 m northward on edges of gravel road. Persistent after cult. and slowly spreading. Biennial or perennial; cor. Campanulate-ventricose, light yellow, lightly mottled with red-brown squiggly lines within.
