Habitat:
Roadside ditch at the edge of a wetland that has been ditched and cultivated but idle now for at least 10 years. With willows, Polygonum amphibium, several Helianthius spp. Full sun, mucky soil.
Notes:
Many plants together ranging from 8'-10' tall. Several heads in a large cluster. Roots with small tubers. Stem reddish, mostly smooth. Sheet 2 of 4.
