Habitat: Main (small) spring, issuing forth water year-round, disturbed by excavation sometime in the 1980s, now grassy, weedy, trampled. Assoc. on banks: Agrostis gigantea, Aster puniceus, A. umbellatus, Carex granularis, Rumex crispus, Juncus dudleyi, Scirpus atrovirens, and Solidago uliginosa. Assoc. in shallow water: Agrostis gigantea var. ramosa, Equisetum arvense, Juncus nodosus, and Scirpus validus.
