Habitat: Moss-covered earthen bank, moist slope in rich Acer saccharum (overwhelming dominant) woods with Fraxinus americana; groundlayer: Actaea pachypoda, Adiantum pedatum, Carex blanda, C. rosea (C. convoluta), Galium triflorum, Phyrma leptostachya, Polygonatum pubescens, Sanicula sp., Sanguinaria canadensis, Trillium grandiflorum, and Osmorhiza claytonii. Area of erosion channel below culvert, near road.
