Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Vilas, Outskirts of Wisconsin DNR campsite 4, just N of the Ontonagon River between Palmer and Tenderfoot Lakes.

Habitat: Mesic northern hardwood forest. Overstory dominated by Acer saccharum, with scattered Betula alleganiensis and Tsuga canadensis. Litter layer mostly eaten to the ground by earthworms.
Notes: Scattered small patches. Reproducing plants ranged from 1 to 8 dm tall, with these in about the middle of the size range.
