Habitat:
Southern edge of the river as it winds its way just north of road through northern mesic hardwoods. The canopy is formed by Acer saccharum, Tsuga canadensis, Pinus strobus. Tilia americana, Fraxinus americana, Betula allegheniensis, and Populus balsamifera. Shrub layer consists mainly of Corylus conrnuta. Groundcover species include Maianthemum canadense, Lycopodium spp, Aster macrophyllus, and Onoclea claytonia. Very relaxing area.
