Habitat: Located at the edge of the water in mucky soil. Common assoc.: (Eleocharis erythropoda) red-footed spikerush, (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani) softstem bulrush, (Sagittaria latifolia) common arrowhead, (Scirpus cyperinus) woolgrass, (Dulichium arundinaceum) three-way sedge, (Hypericum boreale) northern St.John's-wort.
Notes: Rare; a few individuals were found on the bog island near the east boat landing in the main basin. [There is a duplicate accession number for a specimen of Heteranthera dubia, Jul/27/2008, Berg, Matthew S., 2008-214, Douglas Co.- editor added "a"]
