Habitat: Rocky to sandy bottoms in 0-1.5 meters of water. Common assoc.: (Myriophyllum tenellum) dwarf water milfoil, (Juncus pelocarpus) brown-fruited rush, (Eleocharis acicularis) needle spikerush, (Utricularia resupinata) small purple bladderwort.
Notes: Rare in north lake to locally abundant in main lake where it forms thick mats in shallow water. Emergent form located along shore interspersed among other emergents. [Duplicate accession number of Nymphaea odorata, Menomine Co.- editor added "a"].
